Company Profile
Approach
At Jenner we believe in long term commitment and if successful in tender or in negotiation we will work with our clients and supply chain sub-contractors and suppliers to maximise the effectiveness of each participant’s resources.

We advocate an open approach to the management of projects through good communication and planning and to compliment this we are in the early stages of implementing a quality management system with a view to achieving ISO 9001 accreditation.
Our organisational structure has developed over the years and remains ideally suited to achieve the ultimate aim of customer satisfaction. Our clients can have the confidence that directors and senior management within the company are involved with the day to day operations of all our construction projects.
We are fully conversant with managing the design process through our experience gained from undertaking design and build contracts and indeed we regularly work with a varied supply chain of designers and consultants. This experience enables us to add value to projects where we are employed on a traditional basis.

Sustainability
We have extensive experience in building with innovative forms of construction and have worked with Eco Homes since its advent and subsequently its evolution into the Code for Sustainable Homes.
We achieve compliance using a mixture of fabric solutions and low carbon technology, working in partnership with our clients to arrive at the optimum solution for their bespoke set of requirements.
In the past year we are delighted to have been involved with two schemes that have achieved a breeam excellent rating.
Environmental
Our environmental management involves robust procedures that are integral to our day-to-day business. Waste management is of the utmost importance and we operate procedures on site that include the setting of environmental goals, such as the aim to purchase 70% of timber from FSC sources and operate separate skips to divide recyclable and non-recyclable waste.

Health and Safety
The management of health and safety is considered to be a top level commitment fundamental to the company’s operation. It is the policy of our company to implement the provisions the Health and Safety at Work Act and provide as far as is reasonably practicable, safe working conditions to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all our employees and others affected by our works. At Jenner we aim to improve safety standards by providing relevant safety training for and consultation with our employees. We shall maintain and where possible improve our excellent health and safety record with the co-operation of all our employees and the extended supply chain.
We are a member of Construction Safety (South East) Limited, a third party organisation who carry out expert safety audits on our sites and provide other safety advisory services including safety training for our staff and operatives.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Jenner is committed to balancing the company’s economic sustainability alongside its social and environmental responsibilities. Our respect for people encompasses treatment of our own employees, our interaction with the communities in which we operate and our management of the relationships within our supply chain.

Our corporate social responsibility extends into the local community through a number of different ways. Within the construction industry we are active in supporting the quarterly meeting of similar sized and smaller contractors/subcontractors to promote best practice in training and other industry topics through the voluntary Invicta Construction Training Group. Jenner were one of the founding members of Construction Safety (South East) in the 1960’s and our Construction Director is a volunteer member of the board of that charitable organisation. We remain a major provider of work experience and provide site and office based placements throughout the year for local school and college students.
Equally fundamental is the care we take as a business to nurture and protect the natural environment. This means not just managing the environmental impact of our construction projects but also the steps we take as an ethical business to minimise the effect of our day-to-day activities, such as the use of natural resources and management of waste.
Customer Care
Whilst it is our aim to minimise defects through considered and careful planning during the construction process, in the event of these occurring we have a dedicated customer care team who take responsibility for following up reported maintenance issues that arise during the post completion 12 months defects liability period. We appreciate the importance of our performance during this stage of the process and we are continually setting ourselves targets to reduce the number of defects and look at ways of improving the service provided by our team.
