Regenerating a redundant building on the Beaver Road in Ashford, our General Works team have been contracted by Ashford Borough Council to convert the former run-down property into eight new homes, capable of accommodating up to twenty five people.

Christchurch Lodge, Ashford

Location: Beaver Road, Ashford

Client: Ashford Borough Council

Value: £500k

The careful and sympathetic refurbishment programme has been underway since autumn 2019 by our team of directly employed multi-trade operatives as part of the Council’s strategic investment to bring the building back to life, adding facilities that include a communal kitchen, dining room and laundry room.

This is an innovative project that is set to benefit the homeless by addressing essential housing provision in the borough whilst saving taxpayers money and continuing the towns pro-active regeneration programme.

Christchurch Lodge follows the same blueprint adopted by the council when it created Christchurch House, a rundown property bought at auction in 2013. It was transformed into good quality short-stay accommodation and was so successful that the money saved on placing homeless people in costly B&B’s meant that Christchurch House payed for itself within four years.

The project has utilised high-quality products and materials to ensure maximum build quality, environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.

Works are progressing well and due to complete mid-Summer 2020
