Stockdale Gardens, Deal & Kimberley Close, Dover
Location: Dover, Kent
Client: Dover District Council
Value: £3 Million
The new homes, built across two separate brownfield sites in Dover and Deal, which are owned by Dover District Council are intended to offer interim short-term accommodation before a more permanent solution is found for local people who find themselves temporarily homeless, and ultimately reducing the reliance on B&B accommodation, which is a significant cost to the Council. Dover District Council is focused on building back better to deliver a range of housing options as part of its ambitious plans to deliver 500 affordable new homes across the region in coming years.
The Council’s investment will deliver 8 one-bedroom flats at Stockdale Gardens in Deal and 16 studio flats at Kimberley Close in Dover. The residential developments include a range of ancillary communal facilities, including laundry rooms, cycle racks, car parking, and refuse and recycling storage and will regenerate formerly redundant sites for the greater good of the local community.
Works are progressing well on both sites.
