CIOB Emerging Talent Awards – A Win for Will!

Date: April 2022

The Directors of Jenner are delighted and incredibly proud to announce that our Assistant Surveyor Will Dean was crowned the overall winner of the CIOB’s ‘Tomorrows Leaders, Emerging Talent’ Award which was annouced at their annual Kent Professionals Dinner in Maidstone at the end of March. Will (pictured central right receiving his award from CIOB’s Adam Mitchell) was shortlisted from what was noted by the CIOB as a ‘very strong line-up of entrants’ from across the Kent construction industry alongside fellow finalsists Maddie Beech from Kier and James Robinson from INVVU Construction Consultants. Whilst both were noted as worthy runners up the judges informed us that Will was “a clear winner”!

As a mature and confident, yet incredibly humble and unassuming young man, Will is a true asset to Jenner with his positive attitude and proactive approach. Studying part-time over five years on a day-release basis Will is set to graduate in 2026 and the Directors of Jenner felt his progress, unrelenting commitment, and boundless potential truly worthy of recognition and so nominated him for the award.

Those training and working alongside Will speak incredibly highly of his both aptitude and attitude:

Ask Will to do something and it is done! I have every confidence when asking him to interact with our clients directly. He will go far in this industry.” Jason Tobin - Senior Surveyor

From our initial meeting it is apparent Will has attained an increased level of knowledge and understanding, evident in the high quality of work he is issuing and his professionalism.” Chaz Mann – Senior Surveyor – Philip Pank Partnership

Commencing his career in construction as a Trainee Surveyor, Will was assigned to a pre-existing team on one of the largest residential developments in the company’s history. Deployed to provide essential surveying support in the delivery of 166 mixed tenure homes on the site of a former World War 2 airbase at Kings Hill, Will managed many sub-contract packages and all finishing trades, from tender to Final Account, effortlessly. He is now surveying 65 new homes under construction in Cliffsend.

Congratulations Will on your much deserved accolade.
