Following on from our previous Communication Statement No.5 issued on 14th April, we are pleased to announce that Jenner are now firmly focused on remobilising back to construction activity, following our temporary closure over the past four weeks in response to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID 19 Jenner Group Policy - Stakeholder Communication Update No.6

Date: April 2020

Whilst government directive sees us predictably enter an extended period of lock-down measures, we believe it is imperative that construction must now resume to ensure we can fulfil our contractual commitments to our valued clients and continue to benefit society and the wider economy. Our intentions fully align with the continuing government support for construction to continue, and we have spent much of the time during our temporary closure considering and adopting enhanced safety procedures to protect all those travelling to and from and working on our sites.

The Directors of Jenner along with the Jenner COVID-19 task-force, the team established to guide us through this period of uncertainty and who are analysing and understanding all government guidance and CLC advice, have introduced policies and adopted guidelines for safe and responsible working that ensures we are confident we have all necessary working procedures and safety guidelines in place to be certain we are well placed for a safe return to work. Our management teams will continue to operate remotely, with a much reduced team working from the office.

The exact date of our recommencement is yet to be finalised at this stage as we are now largely dependent on our material suppliers within our highly proactive supply-chain to ensure sufficient availability of necessary materials. We are encouraging as many merchants as we can to assist us in our return to site and are hoping many that are currently considering a return will now commit to re-open. We have also received an excellent and almost unanimous response from our highly regarded subcontract supply chain partners, who have agreed to return to work in support of our intentions, and are very willing to adopt our new working policies and the significant changes this will mean to their working habits on our sites. We are now in the process of informing all our supply chain partners of our specific intentions and phased return on each of our sites so resources can be programmed in to recommence in accordance with this strategy.

In addition, we shall be personally writing to all clients as well as their Employers Agents and any key consultant representatives to advise them when we intend for their project to recommence, and to provide them with our revised Methods of Working and logic behind our return to ensure they too are supportive of our intentions.

Residents within the local communities we serve will also receive out of courtesy, a written confirmation of our return to work, intended to reassure them that we are well prepared with an adopted plan and policy in place that will ensure safe working for all in accordance with current government and Construction Leadership Council guidelines.

As more of our construction sites reopen, we envisage that we will see a phased return of managers and support staff to our main premises, but with the majority continuing to work remotely to ensure we minimise any unnecessary secondary exposure or further spread of infection as the pandemic begins to subside.

In the meantime we do encourage you all to remain safe at home and with a positive outlook ahead of the extended lock-down period. This really is critical to ensure we all play our part to reduce unnecessary pressure on our vital NHS resources and keep everyone safe and well.

Once again the safety of all within our duty of care remains our utmost priority and we continue to thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding.
