Throughout the temporary closure of all our construction sites across Kent and Sussex as well as our main office in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Directors and COVID-19 team at Jenner have worked incredibly hard during the period of lock down to ensure we are fully prepared and ready to safely return to construction activity. Having established strict new working procedures alongside enhanced safety and heightened hygiene and cleaning measures we are now confident and prepared to begin our phased return to operation with a number of sites recommencing today (Monday 27th April) and accordingly are delighted to see many of our site management teams returning to active duty.

COVID-19 Jenner Group Policy - Stakeholder Update No.7

Date: April 2020

The sites that are recommencing have been thoroughly assessed and are deemed capable of reopening in terms of safety, subcontractor availability and have access to a sufficient supply of materials. These will all be monitored incredibly closely throughout the coming week to ensure the welfare of all those working on our behalf is not being compromised and that we continue to have sufficient trades and materials to ensure a suitable level of productivity. We anticipate that more sites will subsequently follow this trend on 4th May 2020.

Social distancing remains critical throughout this period of continued lock-down for the nation and this will be of paramount importance to maintain on our sites. Clear social distancing guidelines have been established, incorporating advice and recommendations from our safety advisors and will work in parallel with the clear directive issued by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC). A zero-tolerance approach to non-conformance is essential and anyone who does not adhere to our revised rules when on a Jenner site will be promptly removed.

The Directors of Jenner strongly reiterate that the safety of everyone within our duty of care remains our absolute priority and we will continue to do everything within our powers to ensure those working on our behalf are kept safe and well as we move forwards with construction activity. We do hope you will continue to support us in our decision to return and concur that the time is right to do so in the best interests of the economy and society.

All information and documentation specifically relating to our response to the ‘COVID-19 pandemic along with a list of those sites resuming construction activity can be found within the dedicated section of our website: www.jenner-group.co.uk/about-us/covid-19-information
