With our first sites recommencing construction activity on Monday 27th April as we began our phased return to safe operation following our temporary closure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Directors of Jenner are pleased to report that this has been as smooth a process as hoped with our returning teams showing great enthusiasm and positivity in establishing enhanced safe site set-ups ready for the gradual return of our supply chain.

COVID-19 Jenner Group Policy – Stakeholder Update No.8

Date: May 2020

All sites were closely monitored throughout their first week of remobilisation, and owing to the steady supply of materials and subcontractor availability we are now confident and ready to re-open the remainder of our sites today (Monday 4th May) with just one exception, which we expect to open next week.

We fully appreciate that remobilisation following a four week stand-down period will be a slow and steady process, taking small steps day-by-day whilst we safely return to desired levels of productivity. Operating in this manner is essential to ensure we establish our enhanced safety culture incorporating new rules and procedures and strict social distancing guidelines, which remains of critical importance in continuing to keep everyone safe as the pandemic continues.

Our decision to resume business operations is fully endorsed by the news from government last week that construction workers are now entitled to virus testing in their considered role as a key worker, reinforcing that our return to site has been well considered and well timed and this gives us great reassurance that we have made the correct decisions at the correct time. We strongly reiterate that safety remains of absolute priority and our duty of care is to put the health and wellbeing of our people first, ahead of any economic benefit.

Every site will continue to be closely monitored on a daily basis to ensure all safety advice is adhered to at all times with a zero-tolerance approach to non-conformance and with set protocol now in place should we experience any suspected or confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the future now we are operational once again.

In the best interests of society, the economy and our commitments to our valued clients and trusted supply chain, we do hope that we will continue to receive the same levels of support for our decisions that we have been fortunate to receive throughout our self-imposed temporary closure, as we now press ahead with controlled momentum on the construction of many key community projects including housing, health centres and care homes.
