On Friday 23rd May the Jenner team were joined by key members from Thanet District Council alongside our client and design team to celebrate the completion of 38 affordable new homes in Ozengell Place Ramsgate.

Ozengell offers maximum affordability to Thanet local people.

Date: June 2025

Reaching this key milestone and handing over the new homes into the possession of our valued, longstanding client Moat Housing means that many of those in temporary accommodation on the council’s local housing list can now enjoy a permanent residence of the highest quality and a place to call home.

Offered for social rent; the most affordable tenure within the affordable housing spectrum, the homes are installed with air source heat pumps to guarantee energy efficiency and keep running costs to a minimum, ensuring maximum affordability for their new residents. The development of the former greenfield site delivers a mix of 23no. 2- and 3-bedroom houses and 15no. 1-and 2-bedroom apartments.

Whilst the new homes have been designed and built with cost-efficiency at their core the standard of construction is incredibly high and the attractive development – utilising different brick colours and types within the houses and with a vibrant cladding to the apartments – seamlessly fits within its surrounding landscape.

Officially commemorating the completion of the new homes, the red ribbon was cut by Ashley Jackson - Head of Housing and Planning from Thanet District Council who thanked everyone who made this development possible, siting the delivery of Ozengell Place as an example of “partnership working at its finest”. She further stated: “This development is about more than just homes; it is about stability for families and hope for future generations. It is about local people, those who live and work and raise their families and contribute to our community. Delivering this high-quality affordable housing is only possible if we work together with one aim to create communities that are inclusive, resilient and thriving.”

Following Ashley’s speech, Russell Drury – Senior Development Manager from Moat Housing thanked everyone who has made this vison become a reality and addressed two key themes around partnership working and customer focus. He added “the customer experience is a key driver for Moat and is why we do what we do. We now have a stock of 87 homes in the region and these latest new homes will make a big difference to the lives of those families who will come to live here. Well done everyone”.
