St Thomas’ Place, Military Road, Canterbury

The scheme was developed using a traditional masonry solution.
The apartment block is between 2-3 storeys in height and fronts Military Road, while the terrace of houses fronts onto an adjoining park and overlooks St Thomas’ School. The final two units face onto Old Ruttington Lane. Each of the houses have a small enclosed rear garden and a single car parking space.
Due to its location within a conservation area, the houses have been designed in a Georgian style and complementary finishing materials have been chosen, for example, high specification timber windows.
The site is located on a busy arterial road and is also located adjacent to a school. We worked to develop a logistics plan that takes these elements into account, including scheduling deliveries outside peak traffic times and school runs.
