Sixty five affordable new homes are progressing well in East Kent on behalf of our client Monson Homes (Town and Country Housing).

Delivering fifty nine houses and six apartments the contract involves substantial S278 works to include construction of a new access road, children’s play area, sub-station, pumping station and all landscaping.

Of the sixty five new homes, fifteen will be detached houses, thirty six semi-detached houses, eight terraced houses and six apartments and all of varying sizes in terms of bedroom allocation and the numbers of occupants they are designed to accommodate. The units are of mixed tenure with fourteen units to be available for affordable rent, six for shared ownership and the remaining forty five are for private sale.

Built of traditional construction on mass concrete foundations the homes are designed to include an array of brickwork and weatherboarding finishes to ensure a diverse and aesthetically pleasing scheme is delivered with elements of sustainable technology incorporated throughout. Ahead of completion in the latter part of 2023, a show home will be delivered to aid our client with unit sales and occupation.

Prior to construction activity commencing an extensive Archaeological survey was carried out given the sites proximity to the original Roman landings. Whilst a green field site, many challenges have been posed in terms of utilities with diversion of overhead cabling and water mains required.
