This much needed housing project saw us develop new one and two bedroom homes for the Royal British Legion Industries in Aylesford.

RBLI Veterans Accommodation, Aylesford

Location: Aylesford

Client: Royal British Legion Industries

Value: £3.4m

24 homes for wounded and sick war veterans and their families have been provided, across two blocks. The housing provides accommodation for those who are not in need of care but require specialist facilities. Accommodation is also being provided for younger single veterans in need of temporary housing.

RBLI is aiming to create a new sustainable community of ex-forces personnel with it located near to the extensive RBLI Village which offers support, employment and further housing for ex-personnel.

The development features a specialist centrepiece – The Chelsea Barracks Garden, designed by Jo Thompson for the 2016 Chelsea Flower Show. The garden contributes to resident rehabilitation with Qatari Diar, the garden’s sponsors, having sponsored training for two residents who have a keen interest in horticulture, allowing them to maintain the garden in its new home.
